Puzzling Light
2011 – Sculpture
Jigsaw puzzle, metal leaf, sealant, light
45 x 45 x 16.5cm
This artwork was created especially for the themed 2011 Rob McNamara exhibition: ‘There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in’ (Leonard Cohen).
I knew I wanted to create a sculpture that actually uses light as part of the work, so to use a jigsaw puzzle to make the form became an obvious choice. Careful selection of puzzle and shape combine to create an interesting pattern of light.
